The BC-348Q receiver is fully restored and powered by a dynamotor. With a 50 foot wire strung between two tents I was easily able to hear numerous signals. I had the receiver tuned to CHU Canada on 7850 Kc and people were amazed that the receiver could "hear that far"! The BC-375 was there for display only.
DF Setup: The loop is a Bendix DU-1 Direction Finding Unit. It is connected to an ARA CBY-46145 Broadcast band (500 to 1500 Kc) navigation receiver. The bare metal receiver to the right of the ARA is an SCR-247N BC-453 Beacon band (190 to 550 Kc) navigation receiver. All 3 units worked and there was a lot of good response to the DF Demos I did throughout the day |
